We have designed these to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to effectively respond to a wide range of emergency situations, including natural disasters like hurricanes to flooding, fires, or active assailant incidents. Join us to learn key protocols and strategies for safeguarding your team, library resources, and patrons.

Educator
Peter Miller is Director of the Facilities Planning and Security Department at the George A. Smathers Libraries, University of Florida. With a departmental goal to provide the best possible work environment for employees and patrons, the department is responsible for all facility planning, construction, maintenance, security, signage, accountable property, office supply distribution, and the system-wide mail and courier service for our libraries. Peter has been with Smathers Libraries for over 16 years, beginning as a supply clerk in 2007. He holds B.A. degrees in English and in Broadcasting from Flagler College, St. Augustine, FL.
